The chances are that if you are reading this article, you’ve already heard about the role that gratitude plays in our lives.
Since we were young, our parents taught us that we have to thank when we receive anything from others. But no one has shown us to be grateful for what we earn, neither for what we already have.
Before you understand how to be grateful for what you have, it is better for you to know why gratitude is essential, if you want your life to improve.

Why You Should Be Grateful for What You Havebeauty

I’ve known about the importance of gratitude a few years ago.

At that time I was going through a challenging period, in which I had various issues to solve, and I thought there was very little to be grateful. I was always nervous because I always felt under stress. I had financial problems, and my primary concern was how to earn a living, even though my projects were far more critical.

Once, while watching a video of Osho on the law of attraction, the title of another video caught my attention. The title was: “Abundance surrounds you.”

Naturally, since I saw very little abundance in my life, I instinctively open that video, which changed my vision of reality.
The main topic was just the GRATITUDE.
We do not realize the abundance that surrounds us, because we are too focused on what we lack. According to the Law of Attraction, we attract into our lives exactly what we focus on most.
When you are grateful for what you have, your mood is invariably positive. And positivity helps you release much of that stress, which builds up when you only see the negative sides of your life. Stress blocks your energies and prevents you from seeing things with clarity.
Not only that, if you will be sincerely grateful for the positive things in your life, you will attract more and more things like those that make you feel grateful.

I’ll give you an example. When I wanted to buy my first car, I had no idea of the model of car I wanted. A year before, however, my father gave me the keychain of the Lancia Y. Strangely, while I went to the job every day to earn money for my car, I often saw the Lancia Y. My brain was focusing on that type of machine. To make it short, in six months, my father called me to tell me he bought the car. And it was a Lancia Y; This is to make you understand how strong the Law of Attraction is, and how what we focus on, even if unconsciously, manifests itself in our reality.

What Is Gratitude

Saying “thank you” when we receive something from others is a sign of education. Being grateful for what we receive, however, goes far beyond words.

what are you grateful forGratitude comes from the heart. You feel grateful when you recognize the things that allow you to live your life. The first thing we have to be thankful for when we open our eyes in the morning is to be still alive. As long as you are alive, you again can change many things, you can spend your time with those you love, and mainly you have the chance to feel alive.

Gratitude, for me, is synonymous with Recognition. Being grateful does not mean to thank for what you have even if you do not like it, but understand the role of the things you have in your life. As well as the eyes serve you for seeing the beauty around you, legs to walk and ears to hear; in the same way every event that happens in our life, even if harmful, brings with it a gift.

By practicing gratitude, you can identify more easily the gifts and lessons that life offers you so that you no longer feel the need to judge what you do not like.

People do not enter our lives without reason. When someone disappoints us, we spontaneously feel anger towards him. And it’s natural. As long as you do not hurt others, you have the right to express your emotions, and in fact, it does you good, because in this way you discharge the negative energies. But after that, stop and reflect on what this person has brought into your life. Even if it were just a lesson, it indeed served you to grow up.adventure

Nothing happens in our life without reason. Even though others can disappoint you, if you learn to have a sense of gratitude towards what they have given you, you will stop feeling angry towards them. And surely you know that the negative emotions you feel will harm only you.

I read many absurd comments on social media. People today use their anger on social media, thus influencing more and more people; This is an easy way to get to the target, but you have to know that what you send to the Universe returns to you like a boomerang.

What are the things in your life for which you feel you have to be grateful? 

Being grateful and recognizing the beautiful things in your life will make you feel positive. And if you are positive, you will attract only positive people and events. You know that you draw what you are;)

How To Be Grateful For What You Have

As I wrote above, the first thing to do in the morning is to say “thank you.”

When I began to be more aware of the importance of gratitude, I used this mantra everythank you morning. When I woke up in the morning I said aloud and with a big smile: “Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you …” And I repeated it for a minute.
It is not necessary to think at that moment about what you are grateful, as long as you say this word. And during the repetition, you must feel a real sense of gratitude. Do not worry if it seems confusing at first. In the beginning, you may feel embarrassed. But with practice, everything will be more natural for you.
Feeling thankful in the morning, even if apparently without reason, fills you with energy.
When I had to give some exams at the University, I isolated myself and pronounced this word. I can not explain how, but even if I did not feel very well prepared, I took good grades. Because I was so full of positive energy that everything flowed in the best direction.
thankfulIf you want to be more aware of the things for which you are grateful, I advise you to have a diary and write down ten things for which you feel thankful. Read it every morning, in this way you will be more and more aware of it.
Then, at the end of each day, write in your diary five things that happened to you during the day, for which you are grateful.
You can be grateful for having completed a task, for having received a gift, for successfully having faced any situation, for having spent time in a pleasant company. The things to be grateful for are countless. The more you write them down, the more you will feel the need to write more of them down, because they will multiply.
Our brain can work miracles. It is up to us to choose our thoughts.

Conclusion

Now, I think the next step for you would be to get a diary;)

Write in it the things that make you feel good, and believe me your life will get better because it depends on your thoughts.

Awesome post and definitely a great reminder for me.

Sometimes, I always get stuck wanting what others have and being disappointed for not being as successful as others, but honestly, after taking a real close look at my own accomplishments and what I have, I’m absolutely grateful to be where I am.

I’ve never quite looked at being thankful and being grateful as two different things, but I love how you explained it here. I think I need to go write down some of the things I should be grateful for in life and remind myself to be happy about them each day.

    Being thankful and being grateful can be the same thing if they both come from the heart. I mean, we usually say “thank you” but aren’t always thankful for the things for which we thank.

    Sometimes, I found myself in your same situation. I thought other people had a better life than I had. But I realized that anyone has to pay the price for his or her success, and in the most cases I would never have done what they did for achieving their goals. Success isn’t always synonym with happiness. Anyway, that worked for them. That’s the reason everyone has his or her path because all of us are different from each other.
